We have won a new contract for Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic
Our company ELDIS Pardubice, as a leading manufacturer of active radars, will supply new combined radars to the sites located on the top of Mount Písek in the Brdy Mountains and Buchtův kopec in the Žďárské Hills in the Vysočina region. Both radars will be delivered with a radome, a radio-transparent protective cover for the radar antenna. The contract value is 10.5 million euros (258 million Czech crowns) and includes post-warranty service for a period of 15 years.
We will implement the project between 2025 and 2029. To both sites, designated PISEK and BUKOP, we will supply a combined primary and secondary surveillance radar RL-2000/MSSR-1. Both radars will be equipped with a radome, a dome that protects the radar antenna from external conditions while having a minimal impact on signal transmission.
“Winning a reference contract from a domestic customer is a great recognition of a manufacturer’s quality. We highly appreciate the trust placed in us by the state enterprise Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic,” says our General Director Vladimír Vojáček, adding: “Once this contract is completed, our radars will cover the entire airspace of the Czech Republic, both for civil and military infrastructure. We believe this reference will also help us in negotiations with foreign organizations.”
The new combined primary and secondary radars at the PISEK and BUKOP sites will ensure continuous secondary coverage for cooperating targets within the Prague Flight Information Region (FIR Praha), as well as primary coverage capable of detecting non-cooperating targets at the relevant flight levels. The delivery will also include secondary surveillance radars compliant with the latest EUROCONTROL standard – EMS 4.0 (European Mode S Station, version 4.0).
Upon completion of the radar installation, which according to the signed contract is scheduled for 2029, we will – with the exception of the radar serving TMA Ruzyně – be the supplier of radars for all major civil (PISEK, BUKOP, Brno, Ostrava) and military aviation infrastructure sites (Kbely, Pardubice, Čáslav, Náměšť nad Oslavou). Our radars will thus cover the entire airspace of the Czech Republic.
